Council Action Requested:
Accept a report prepared by CreativeMN.org as part of a recent ArtsLab cohort.
Background Information:
In mid-2017, the Hastings Prescott Area Arts Council (HPAAC) participated in a study
about arts and culture in Minnesota. Local organizations participated in a number of
meetings facilitated by the organizers. Councilmember Lisa Leifeld agreed to be involved
in this discussion and attended several of the meetings.
At the meeting on Tuesday, Sheila Smith of the Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, will
provide a brief presentation on the findings as a result of the study.
Financial Impact:
None at this point. The City of Hastings has been supportive of the initiative but has not
committed any financial resources at this point.
