HomeMy WebLinkAboutVI-05 - Water & Sewer Services Repair Assessment Request - 543 7th Street West City Council Memorandum To: Mayor Hicks & City Council Members From: Nick Egger – Public Works Director Date: September 18, 2018 Item: Water & Sewer Services Repair Assessment Request – 543 7th Street W COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED Enclosed for Council approval is a request from Andrea Johnson for the City to pay the cost to repair the water & sewer services lines for her home at 543 7th Street W and to assess the costs back to the property. The cost of the work in this case is $5,000. With similar requests for utility service repairs, the City Attorney has prepared an agreement and waiver of assessment appeal for property owners to sign, spelling out the conditions and terms of the assessment and protecting the City from an assessment appeal. The Council is requested to approve Ms. Johnson’s request for the City to fund the water & sewer services repair and assess the cost back to the property under the condition that she first enters into an assessment agreement with the City.
