COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED
Council is requested to approve the attached change order for the 2018-1 Neighborhood Infrastructure
Improvements Project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Change Order covers the costs to remove and replace the unstable soil that was discovered beneath 6th
Street West from Pine Street to Maple Street. The additional items identified in this change order were
necessary to construct a street base capable of passing the required stability testing.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The value of the work contemplated by Change Order #2 is an increase of $25,600.00 due to the unforeseen costs
of the underlying soil conditions. The change order falls within the construction contingency of 5% estimated for
this project, therefore does not exceed the planned budget.
The total impact of change orders to the contract is at 2.0%. The table below summarizes the change orders to
date.
