HomeMy WebLinkAbout20211018 - CC Workshop Minutes Hastings, Minnesota City Council Workshop September-20- -20-2+- October 18, 2021 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a workshop on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Hastings City Hall, 101 East 4th Street, Hastings, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Fasbender, Councilmembers Braucks, Folch, Fox, Leifeld, Vaughan Members Absent: Councilmember Lund Staff Present: City Administrator Dan Wietecha Assistant City Administrator Kelly Murtaugh City Engineer Ryan Stempski Community Development Director John Hinzman Guests: Chad Davison, Met Council Adam Gordon, Met Council Mayor Fasbender called the workshop to order at 5:34 p.m. Chad Davison provided an overview of the project of relocating Wastewater Treatment Plant to 2445 Ravenna Trail (between Ravenna and railway) from its current downtown location. Met Council will fund the capital costs directly associated with the project. The new plant will be owned by Met Council. The lift station and force main will be owned and maintained by the City. Davison outlined the timeline for the project, noting a Public Hearing January 5, 2022. Construction would begin in 2024 with completion in 2026. Council discussion on the selected location for the force main and gravity sewer lines. Council also discussed the timeline for the project and other projects that may be occurring in the City simultaneously. The Workshop adjourned at 6:36 p.m. GV1 - b, Mary D.
