HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/22/73MINUTES OF HASTINGS PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD MONDAY, OCTOBER 22, 1973 Members present: Jr. member: Jensen~ Hallberg~ Soleim, Hirchert~ Kramer, Trautmann~ Tanner Schumacher Linde, Stoffel~ Minutes of October 8~ 1973 meeting were approved. Mr. Soleim reported that his commitUee is studying but has no report on Wallbridge house relocation. Mr. Hallberg reported that his committee is still studying Jensen appli- cation for a building permit on Second S~reet. It is suggested that all of the members look at ~he location after the leaves are off the trees. The United States PosU O££ice has requested certain changes in stree'~ names. Matter referred to Trautmann committee. Mr. Trau~mann asked whether the Commission should be looking into the question of annexation at this time. In this regard: Mr. Jensen will in- quire as to who represents the City of Hastings on The Ad Hoc planning committee. Mrs. Linde mentioned the problem of DuUch Elm disease and wondered whether the Commission should study this matter. Mr. Hallberg mentioned the possibility of adopting a housing code. Mr. Kramer suggested that the City enforce the present ordinances be£ore adopting £urther ordinances~ as a code is only as good as its enforcement. Mrs. Stoffel mentioned that there is a parking problem on Lynn Way near the apartments. Apparently~ there is a safety study being conducted at this time by the City. Motion Stof£el, second Kramer that the council be asked to study restrictive parking on Lynn Way near the apartments. Ail ayes.
