Tanner~ Secretary Hastings Planning Commission CITY OF HASTINGS 100 SIBLEY STREET, HASTINGS, MINNESOTA 55033 Phone 437-6921 Hastings on the H[ssissippi OFFICE OF CITY ENGINEER NOTES OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 1973 I joined this meeting already in progress. They had asked me to estimate the cost of the watermain and sanitary sewer to the Tom Reuter property between 1st and Znd Streets from Spring to Ashland Streets. Estimated Cost for 1973 Construction for W. 2nd Street Alley watermain from Spring to Ashland Streets Strengthening main in Spring Street, gnd Street to the alley: Sanitary Sewer and force main: Lift Station - estimated cost $9,35(:,. O0 $6, 577.00 15, 000.00 (plus or minus) 25, 500.00 (plus or minus) As a comparison, the 4th Street Lift Station, which is a package unit being replaced at Wilson Park is $41, 000. 00 plus or minus. The engineer stated that there may be some alternatives to servicing the four lots owned by Mr. Reuter if we were talking about a limited system, there is a possibility that a sewage lift station and sewer line could be constructed in the northern portion of the lots which would be in fill and outside of the rock areas as part of the unreasonable high cost due to the fact that the rock formations in that area are basically to the surface, having bored the alley, the rock for- mation appears to be one foot to one-half foot below the present ground surface. We can eliminate the rock excavation from the estimated project, the cost could be reduced. Also returned to discuss the 5-Year Capital Improvements Program, but the meeting had been adjourned. Mr. Tanner will have full minutes of this meeting at a later date. Completed our meeting at approximately 9:30 P.M. John Davidson, City Engineer
