We discussed the limited access proposed by the State Highway Department which has been complied with in approving ail subdivisions north and south of T. ti. 55. The recommended offset access to Pine Street between 9th and 10th Streets by the State Traffic Engineer and County Traffic Engineer is to discourage particularly student traffic in the future from accessing straight east in either 9thor 10th street. Also the fact that Mr. Held's garage was very close to 10th Street and Mr. Held actually owned property which caused 10th Street to be a dead-end street as platted, the fact that the house constructed at the end of 9th Street would prevent access to 9th, it was then a question of one of two vacant lots between 9th and 10th, either that held by Mr. Dennis Held or that owned by Mr. Allan Trapp to the north. It would fit in best with Star Realty's proposals for the area to have that street access as far south adjacent to the held property, as possible. A~ter tying down the road systems, the engineer stated that he would have need descriptions made up, send letters out to the property owners involved so that they could have appraisals made of their property and offer the City a selling price prior to the City taking action through its State-Aid right-of-way funding to acquire the property in question. The engineer suggested that the right-of- way be purchased and tied down as soon as possible so that any exchange of land or land development in the area would be built or planned around the road systems. The meeting convened at 8:00 P.M. and ended at approximately 9:30 P.M. John Davidson, City Engineer
