Motion seconded by Marty. Motion passed. <br />Sergeant's Position: <br />Mike reported that there would be two sergeants appointed. One to replace the rank of the <br />Lieutenant position vacated by Sam Sorenson and the other to replace the sergeant wha <br />will be appointed to the Lieutenant position. The Chief announced that there are seven or <br />eight officers who meet the minimum requirements as set forth in the Hastings Police <br />Civil Service Commission Rules and Regulations. <br />Motion by Skip to proceed with the two Sergeant vacancies as follows: <br />1. The applicants are to submit of Letter of Intent by April 15th. This letter should be <br />directed to Commissioner Gilbert_ <br />2. A Resume providing the work experience should be submitted with the written test <br />that each applicant will be required to complete. ChiefMcMemony will draft the two <br />test questions_ The applicants will have between April 17 - 21 to complete the <br />questions. A panel consisting of Commissioner Gilbert, Hastings City Clerk Melanie <br />Mesko & a representative from the Dakota County Sheri#~s Dept will evaluate the <br />test. Each question will be worth 20 points for a total of d0 points. This portion of the <br />process will account far 40% of the overall score. <br />3. An oral interview will be conducted on Thursday, April 27th. Each will be scheduled <br />for %z hour_ The panelists will be Commissioner Jorgensen, Farmington Police Chief <br />Dan Siebenaler and Inver Grove Heights Police Chief Fred Stahl. This portion of the <br />process will account far 60% of the overall score. <br />Motion seconded by Marty. Motion passed. <br />Mike will post the notices in the Hastings Police Department for the above positions. <br />The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 27th at 4:30 for the purpose of <br />certifying the lists of finalists to the Mayor. <br />Meeting adjourned. <br />~~ <br />~^ <br /> <br />
