2.) Discussion as to when a Primary should be called. <br />The current law states that a Primary should be called when three <br />or more people file for any one office (including at-large seats}. <br />Suggestion far motion was that no primary called until five or <br />more people file in an at-large position. <br />Part YT of the motion suggests that these laws be adopted by <br />ordinance through the City Council rather than a vote. The cost <br />wouldn't warrant a vote. Motion far Resolution by Virginia <br />Brown. Seconded by Mike McCabe. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />ITEM VI <br />nnouncements: <br />Tom Novak started discussion on how many times the Charter <br />Commission has to meet. Barb Thompson stated that once per year is <br />mandatory, but usually meetings have been once per quarter. Since no <br />new business was pending, a suggestion was made that the July 9, 1992, <br />7:40 p.m. meeting be set, but if no new business came up, the meeting <br />would be cancelled, and the next meeting would beat 7:00 p.m. October <br />8, 1992. <br />ITEM VII <br />A~d'ournment: <br />Motion made to adjourn the meeting by Denise Kehn. Seconded by <br />Richard Myklebust.
