<br />Erosion Controls <br /> <br />Silt fence requirements <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Silt fence installation <br /> <br />Silt fences shall be installed prior to construction on the property. Silt fences shall be installed <br />throughout the year until the ground freezes as determined by the building official. Silt fences <br />may not be required to be installed while the ground is frozen. Silt fences shall be installed <br />immediately after the ground has thawed as ordered by the Building Official. <br /> <br />Silt fence Locations <br /> <br />A silt fence shall be identified on the erosion control plan. The silt fence shall be located along <br />the tfont yard (3 feet from curb or behind sidewalk) along existing developed yards, and where <br />needed for erosion control as determined by the City's consulting firm reviewing the plan. <br /> <br />Silt fence address <br /> <br />The address of the building shall be painted on the silt fence fronting the street. <br /> <br />Silt fence inspection <br /> <br />A representative of the City shall periodically inspect silt fence installations and other erosion <br />control measures. Inspections will also occur after each significant rainfall event. <br /> <br />Erosion control enforcement <br /> <br />If the erosion control is not being maintained to the City's satisfaction, the City will withhold <br />additional inspections and/or the Certificate of Occupancy. Failure to install and maintain the <br />erosion control shall be a violation of this Code and, in addition to withholding inspections or the <br />Certificate of Occupancy, the City may also follow established procedures on issuing warnings <br />or violation summons as deemed appropriate by the City. <br /> <br />An erosion control fee of $250 will be charged with the issuance of the construction permit to <br />cover inspection costs. <br /> <br />10 <br />
