<br />1250 <br /> <br />July 16, 1973 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a <br />regular meeting on Monday July 16, 1973 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council <br />Chambers of City Hall. <br /> <br />Members present: Councilmen Schnirring, Kramer, Hallberg, Novak, <br />and Mayor Petersen. <br /> <br />Members absent: Councilmen Collins, O'Connor, and Driscoll. <br /> <br />r <br />i <br />l <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Hallberg, seconded by Councilman Kramer to <br />appoint Mary Fischer as Councilman to fill the vacancy in the 4th Ward. <br />Ayes, all; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Schnirring, seconded by Councilman Kramer to <br />refer to the Planning Commission, the request from Julius Lamb for a Special <br />Use permit to operate an Antique and Collectible business within an R 2 <br />zone according to Section 12.2 of the City Zoning Ordinance dated December <br />7, 1970 on the property located at 1030 West 4th Street in the City of <br />Hastings. Ayes, all; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Councilman Schnirring introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />BIDS ON STORM SEWER <br />FOR <br />PINECREST SCHOOL <br /> <br />[, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Storm Sewer <br />Construction at the Pinecrest School for the City of Hastings, the follow- <br />ing bids were received complying with the advertisement: <br /> <br />NAME BID PRICE <br /> <br />Fraser Construction $ 21,402.60 <br />Robert Moore Construction $ 26,800.00 <br />Ro-So Contractors $ 27,260.85 <br />J & T Contractors $ 29,041.65 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it appears that Fraser Construction is the lowest respons- <br />ible bidder, <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, this contract requires approval from the School Board <br />and full payment for the construction shall be received from them, <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Hastings: <br /> <br />The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to <br />enter into a contract with Fraser Construction for the Storm Sewer construc- <br />tion according to the specifications therefore approved by the City Council <br />and on file in the office of the City Clerk. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Iv ,g ?~/~_ <br />City C er <br /> <br /> <br />directed to return forth- <br />ids, after a contract has <br /> <br />The City Clerk is hereby authori <br />with to all bidders the deposits made with <br />been signed. <br /> <br />r <br />~ <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council <br /> <br />of July, 1973. <br /> <br />Councilman Hallberg seconded the motion to adopt said resolution <br />and the same was passed by the following vote: Ayes, all; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Hallberg, seconded by Councilman Kramer to <br />refer to the Planning Commission the request from Ben Franklin Store for a <br />variance in accordance with Section 12.3 of the City Zoning Ordinance dated <br />December 7, 1970 for barb wire fencing to be located at the rear entrance <br />of their property. Ayes, all; Nays, none. <br />
