Hastings, Minnesota June 25, 1986 10 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota IlEt in a Special ItEeting on wednesday, June 25, 1986 at 4:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Members Present: Counci1member Berg, Werner, Kulzer, Bond, Trautmann, Nesbitt, Plan, Mathiowetz and Mayor Stoffel. Members Absent: None. The purpose of the ItEeting was to canvass the results of the Special Election held on Tuesday, June 24, 1986. r~ Counci1member Trautmann intrcxiuced the following Resolution and m::>ved i its adoption: RESOLUTION ID. 86 CANVASS OF SPOCIAL ELEX::TION REIURNS Resolution on Special Election The results of the canvass of votes in the four (4) wards of the City for the Special Election held therein on Tuesday, June 24, 1986 the same are declared to be as follows: Charter A1rendment No. 1 Shall Charter A1rendment No. 1 be adopted, relating to changing the composition of the Council from eight (8) persons elected fran Wards, to six (6) persons, of which two (2) persons would be elected at-large and four (4) persons would be elected fran Wards? Charter Amendment No.2 Shall Charter Amendment No. 2 be adopted, relating to changing the term of the Mayor, beginning with the election in 1986, fran two (2) years to four (4) years, allowing the Mayor to vote as a rrember of the City Council, permitting the Mayor to make and second m::>tions while presiding at a City Council meeting, and raroving the veto power of the fiayor?
