<br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 2, 2001 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br />Public Hearing-Alley Vacation: Block 90, Town of Hastings <br />The public hearing was opened at 7:03 p.m. Planning Director Weiland explained <br />that this alley vacation is an unimproved street and the petition for vacation was signed <br />by six of the seven surrounding property owners. <br />Hearing no public comment, the public hearing was closed at 7 :04 p.m. <br /> <br />2nd Reading, Ordinance Amendment-Alley Vacation: Block 90, Town of Hastings <br />Moved by Councilmember Hicks, seconded by Councilmember Riveness to <br />approve the alley vacation as presented. <br />5 Ayes; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Approve Traffic Study Proposal <br />Public Works Director Montgomery stated that this request is City action to help <br />move the project for study of Highway 316 started and to begin discussion and <br />involvement with MnDOT. <br />Moved by Councilmember Hazlet, seconded by Councilmember Hicks to approve <br />the Highway 316 traffic study proposal as presented. <br />5 Ayes; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Street Design-Sibley Street <br />Public Works Director Montgomery stated that this request is to install 10-minute <br />parking signs by the Guardian Angels block development rather than constructing a <br />separate drop-off lane. <br />Moved by Councilmember Schultz, seconded by Councilmember Hazlet to <br />approve the Sibley Street parking restrictions as presented. <br />5 Ayes; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Resolution-Remove Parking Restrictions Around Existing High School/New <br />Middle School <br />Councilmember Riveness expressed concerns about possible removal of stop <br />signs around this location. <br />Moved by Councilmember Riveness, seconded by Councilmember Hicks to <br />remove stop signs from this resolution and direct staff to report back to the Council for <br />recommended action. <br />5 Ayes; Nays, none. <br />Copy of resolution on file. <br /> <br />First Reading/Order Public Hearing-Ordinance Amendment: Accessory Structure <br />Height <br />Councilmember Riveness expressed a desire to restrict the size of door openings <br />for accessory structures. <br />Moved by Councilmember Riveness, seconded by Councilmember Schultz to <br />approve the first reading, direct staff to work with Councilmember Riveness on door <br />openings for accessory structures, and order a public hearing for July 16,2001. <br />5 Ayes; Nays, none. <br />
