<br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 2, 2001 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br />First Reading/Order Public Hearing-Rezoning Summit Heights from Rezoning <br />from P-1 to R-3, PRD <br />Moved by Councilmember Riveness, seconded by Councilmember Hicks to <br />approve the first reading and order the public hearing for Summit Heights Rezoning for <br />July 16, 2001. <br />5 Ayes; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Preliminary Plat-Summit Heights <br />Planning Director Weiland stated that the Planning Commission recommended <br />approval of the preliminary plat with nine conditions outlined in the Planner's June 27, <br />2001 report. <br />Greg J ablonske, the applicant, requested consideration of Conditions 7 & 9 in the <br />report. <br />Condition 7 stated that the cul-de-sac island will have an electric outlet and meter <br />installed to accommodate seasonal lighting. Jablonske stated that he would prefer that no <br />power be provided for the cul-de-sac and subsequently, no seasonal lighting would be <br />permitted. <br />Condition 9 required the developer to split one 6-unit building into two separate <br />buildings. J ablonske stated that they have already reduced the density of the <br />development and that the six-unit building would fit into the rest ofthe development. <br />Moved by Councilmember Hicks, seconded by Councilmember Schultz to <br />approve the preliminary plat for Summit Heights with Condition 7 to be amended to <br />remove the requirement that it is metered and an electric outlet be installed and Condition <br />9 to be removed. <br />5 Ayes; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Employee Status-Full-Time to Part-Time <br />City Administrator Osberg stated that this request would permit an engineering <br />department employee to reduce the regular workweek from 40 hours to 32 hours, with all <br />benefits and accruals to be reduced at a similar rate. Osberg stated that this request is <br />specific and further requests would be considered on a case-by-case basis. <br />Moved by Councilmember Hazlet, seconded by Councilmember Hicks to approve <br />the status change as requested. <br />5 Ayes; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Authorize Advertisement for Bids-Roadside Park Tennis Courts <br />Councilmember Riveness inquired whether this request for fencing and <br />resurfacing includes fence screening. Councilmember Hicks stated that the request will <br />be for a regular fence that is capable of installation of a windscreen, but that no screening <br />is requested at this time. <br />Riveness also expressed concern over the lighting of the courts. <br />Moved by Councilmember Hicks, seconded by Councilmember Riveness to <br />approve the advertisement for bids, to be reviewed by the NRRC prior to Council <br />approval. <br />
