<br />.. <br /> <br />Minutes of tbe Regu\ar Meeting of November 19, 2001 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Award Contract-Hydroelectric Plant Powerhouse Modifications <br />Staff explained that this project received recommendation by the Utilities Committee of <br />the Council and that completion is estimated by March, 2002. <br />Moved by Councilmember Moratzka, seconded by Councilmember Riveness to award <br />the contract to Meisinger Construction Company in the amount of $447,000. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Public Hearing-Alley Vacation: Block 15, Barkers Addition <br />Mayor Werner opened the public hearing at 7:10 p.m. Hearing no public comment, the <br />public hearing was closed at 7:11 p.m. <br /> <br />Resolution-Alley Vacation: Block 15, Barkers Addition <br />Moved by Councilmember Yandrasits, seconded by Councilmember Hicks to approve <br />the alley vacation as presented. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Public Hearing-Alley Vacation: Alley Between Lots 2 & 3 and 5 & 6, Block 122; Town of <br />Hastings <br />Mayor Werner opened the public hearing at 7:11 p.m. Clarence Chapman, 623 3rd Street <br />East, objected to the alley vacation on the grounds that the property in question is not properly <br />maintained. Hearing no further public comment, the public hearing was closed at 7:13 p.m. <br /> <br />Resolution- Alley Vacation: Alley Between Lots 2 & 3 and 5 & 6, Block 122; Town of <br />Hastings <br />Moved by Councilmember Moratzka, seconded by Councilmember Yandrasits, to <br />approve the alley vacation, with direction to staff to investigate any property maintenance issues. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Public Hearing-803 Oak Street (R-2 to 0-1) <br />Mayor Werner opened the public hearing at 7:11 p.m. Planning Director Weiland stated <br />that the applicant has requested a rezoning on his property to allow for a larger sign. Current, the <br />applicant holds a home occupation permit and operates out of this facility. There were questions <br />about the size of sign and how much parking would be permitted. Hearing no further public <br />comment, the public hearing was closed at 7:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Final Reading-803 Oak Street (R-2 to 0-1) <br />Moved by Councilmember Riveness, seconded by Councilmember Hazlet to approve the <br />rezoning with the conditions outlined in the Planner's November 14,2001 report. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, none. <br /> <br />Resolution Adopting Assessments for Project 2000-3, 6th & 7th Streets <br />Public Works Director Montgomery stated that, as a result of direction from the <br />November 5 Council meeting, staff has recalculated the assessments for Project 2000-3, treating <br />the improvements as a reconstruction project and using the old assessment policy. <br />Moved by Councilmember Hicks, seconded by Councilmember Yandrasits to adopt the <br />resolution for assessments for Project 2000-3, with $39.62 per front foot to be assessed. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, none. <br />
