Hastings Planning Commission <br />Minutes of October 26, 1992 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Hastings Planning Commission was called to order by Commissioner <br />Reinardy at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: Anderson, Bateman, Bolesworth, Mesaros, Featherstone <br /> and Retnardy <br /> <br />Commissioners Absent: None <br /> <br />Staff Present: City Planner Czech <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Commissioner Retnardy called for additions or corrections to the <br />regular meeting of October 12, 1992. There being no additions or <br />corrections the minutes were approved. <br /> <br />SIGN <br />VARIANCE- HWY <br />55 & VERMILLION <br />ST. (TODD FIELD) <br /> <br />Czech reviewed staffs October 21, 1992, memorandum to the Planning <br />Commission concerning a sign variance request by Jim Peacha which <br />the Planning Commission tabled at the regular meeting on October 12, <br />1992. <br /> <br />Upon vote taken Ayes, 6; Nays, O. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mesaros moved, Commissioner Anderson made a second, to <br />remove from the table a sign variance request by Jim Peacha which <br />was tabled on October 12, 1992, Planning Commission agenda. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission discussed issues relating to the proposed <br />signs including, but not limited to, sign location and maintenance, <br />and whether the Gity should amend the sign provisions. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mesaros moved, Commissioner Bolesworth made a second, <br />to approve the sign variance requests based on a finding of fact <br />that the city code does not take into account community signs which <br />create special conditions that are not applicable to other <br />properties. <br /> <br />Upon vote taken, Ayes, 5; Nays, 1 (Featherstone). <br /> <br />HOME OCCUPATION- <br />1301 SPRING STREET <br />GRAY <br /> <br />Czech reviewed staffs October 8, 1992, memorandum to the Planning <br />Commission concerning a request by Edie Lynn Gray for approval of a <br />home occupation permit to allow her a mail order business at 1301 <br />Spring Street. <br /> <br />Commissioner Featherstone moved, Commissioner Anderson made a <br />second, to approve the home occupation request subject to Ms. Gray <br />complying with the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. Compliance with all home occupation standards. <br /> <br />Compliance with all Uniform Building & Fire Codes including a <br />basic fire protection inspection by the Fire Marshall. <br /> <br /> <br />
