MINUTES OF ttASTINGS PL~qNING COFR~ISSION <br />MONDAY, JULY 11, I983 <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Chairman Murphy called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Commissioners Murphy, Swanson, Stevens, <br />Anderson, Wendler, and Conzemius who <br />arrived at 7:35 P.M. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioners Reuter, Martin, and Simacek. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Wendler, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Anderson to approve the Minutes of the June 27, <br />1983 Meeting. 5 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Wendler, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Stevens to recommend approval of the Home Occupa- <br />tion Permit, since it appears to meet all zoning require- <br />ments. 5 Ayes, Conzemius Abstaining. <br /> <br /> The Planner indicated that the Final Pat had four <br />fewer lots than the approved Preliminary Plat, and that <br />the developers were requesting a variance from the re- <br />quired 20 foot walkway width to allow 12 feet. The <br />Planner indicated that the Staff recommendation was to <br />require at least 15 feet for a walkway width. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Wendler to recommend approval of the Final Plat, <br />since it appears to generally conform to the Preliminary <br />Plat, conditioned upon the payment of the required inter- <br />ceptor sewer fees, and approval of a variance for a 15 foot <br />walkway width as apposed to the requested of 12 foot walk- <br />way width, as 15 feet appeared to be acceptable under <br />these circumstances. 6 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br /> Mr. William's described his proposed development <br />and answered questions posed by Commission members. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jeff Connell, the Dakota County Planning <br />Director, explained the County's intention to build <br />a jail at the Court House site, and also explain that <br />part of the County's requirements would include a <br />Communications Tower. A Communications Consultant for <br />the County, a Mr. Dubois also explained the communica- <br />tions needs for the County, as well as the private <br />company asking to erect a tower to serve both the County <br />and their own needs, on the site.
