July 11, 1983 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />tower to fall, and the need to keep it away from <br />property lines for safety purposes in the event <br />that it would fall, disruption of television and <br />radio reception, the possibility of different lo- <br />cations on the Government Center property to mini- <br />mize visual impacts on nearby properties as well as <br />the Government Center Buildings, and the costs to <br />the County in locating the tower at a different <br />site. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by <br />Commissioner Wendler to recommend that the Council <br />approve an ordinance amendment allowing the jail <br />as a permitted use in the Public Institution Zoning <br />District, as this appeared to be consistant with <br />the intent of the original rezoning. 6 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Wendler, seconded by <br />Commissioner Stevens to recommend that the Council <br />amend the Public Institution Zoning District to in- <br />clude Communications Towers as a permitted accessory <br />use in the Public Institution Zone, with a setback <br />from all property lines to be one half (½) the <br />height of the structure, on the condition that the <br />owners of the tower be responsible for clearing up <br />any T.V. or radio reception interference. City Staff <br />is also to verify whether the setback recommendation <br />is consistant with industry standards. 5 Ayes, <br />Conzemius Naye. <br /> <br /> The Planner informed the Commission of a water- <br />shed presentation to be made before the next Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Richard Dobrick, a neighbor near the proposed <br />Pleasant Valley Development presented a letter to the <br />Planning Commission containing quotes from the Compre- <br />hensive Plan that Mr. Dobrick urged the Commission to <br />consider when reviewing any subsequent actions on the <br />proposed development. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Wendler, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Stevens to adjourn at 9:23 p.m. 6 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br />WATERSHED MEETING <br /> <br />RICHARD DOBRICK'S <br />STATEMENT ON THE PLEASANT <br />VALLEY DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />ADJOURMENT <br /> <br /> <br />
