MINU TLS <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> <br /> MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9 197~ <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M. by Vice-Chairman Stoffel. <br /> <br />Members present: Linde, Kramer, Stoffel, Stark, Fischer, Glennie, Walker, <br /> Trautmarm arrived at 7:40 P.M. <br /> <br />Members absent: Latch <br /> <br />Commissioner Fischer indicated that his committee <br />was to accept the request to change the R-3 and R-4 <br />zones to allow health clubs on the condition that the <br />Planning Commission offer some ~uggestions as to what <br />they want investigated. Since there were no comments <br />from the Planning Commission, the Committee did not <br />discuss the topic. <br /> <br />APPROVE MINUTES <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Fischer, seconded by Commissioner <br />Glermie to approve the December 22, 1975 Planning <br />Commission Minutes. 7 Ayes - 0 Nayes. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Fischer, seconded by Commissioner <br />Glennie to approve the Minutes of January Z6, 1976 as <br />amended. 7 Ayes - 0 Nayes. <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was called to order by Vice-Chairman PUBLIC HEARING - <br />Stoffel at 7:37 P.M. The Planning Director read the <br />Notice of Public Hearing and the Affidavit of Publication <br />dates and informed the Planning Commission that the <br />Public Hearing had been properly called. The Planning <br />Director indicated to the planning Commission that if an <br />amendment is made to the ordinance, it should be naore <br />general, such as allowing a recreatlonal facility as opposed <br />to specifically mentioning health clubs as a special use. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE - HEALTH <br />CLUBS AS SPECIAL USE <br />IN R-3 AND R-4 25 ONES <br /> <br />Mr. Gary Seibert, who is a resident of Lyn Way, indicated <br />he is concerned about the City constantly changing the City <br />Ordinance each time somea~e requests something that is not <br />included within the ordinance itself. He expressed concern that <br />allowing commercial development within a residential district <br />would have a detrimental affect on the neighborhoods of Hasth2gs. <br /> <br />After all people present were afforded an opportunity to be heard, <br />Chairman Trautmann closed the Public Hearing at 7:55 P.M. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Kramer, seconded by Commissioner <br />Stark to recommend that no amendment to the ordinance be made <br />allowing health clubs as a special use within an R-3 and R-4 district. <br />6 Ayes - Trautmann, Nay - Stoffel abstained. <br /> <br /> <br />
