OO <br /> <br />$18,000.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Kaiser stated that he had the property appraised at a value of $32,000.00 <br />for 400 front feet. Mr. Kaiser stated that he would be willing to meet with a <br />committee of the Planning Commission, preferably on Saturday mornings. <br />He also stated that if the river channel is changed, the City would have the <br />first opportunity to acquire it from the Corps of Engineers, but if the City does <br />not buy it, he would be interested in bidding on it. Mr. Kaiser said that <br />committee consideration for up to 60 days to make a determination would be <br />adequate. <br /> <br />The subcommittee of the Council to study this would consist of Mr. Fischer, <br />Mr. Sieckert and Mr. Fluegel. <br /> <br />Mr. Petersen read a letter from the State of Minnesota, Department of <br />Conservation dated July 23, 1970 in which they indicated the Corps of Engineers <br />had started the Flood Plain Information Study for the Mississippi and Vermillion <br />Rivers within the vicinity of Hastings. Completion of the studies before July 1, <br />1971. The City will have sufficient information to define the flood plain areas <br />consistent with the State-wide standards now being formulated by the Department <br />of Conservation. <br /> <br />The Engineer reported that he had ordered the filing cabinets as recommended <br />by the Planning Commission and City Council and is in the process of ordering <br />out a Chronoflex map for zoning maps. <br /> <br />Mr. Petersen read a letter from the Upper Midwest Research and Development <br />Council regarding R-1 and R-Z zoning. The letter was received from Mr. Warren P. <br />Eustis, Special Counsel for the firm. This letter was disseminated to all members <br />of the Planning Commission for review with the last minutes of the Planning <br />Commis sion. <br /> <br />Mr. Petersen also indicated there would be a workshop, Friday, July 31, <br />at which he and the City Engineer would attend and anyone from the Planning <br />Commission who would like to attend could ride up with the City Engineer and <br />Planning Commission chairman. This workshop is being presented by the <br />Office of Local and Urban Affairs in regard to Federal funding for open space <br />and recreation grants. Mr. Tom Clawson, from the Office of Local and Urban <br />Affairs will be at the September Planning Commission to speak on proposed <br />recreation committee duties and functions. <br /> <br /> <br />
