Minutes of Has~ings Planning Commission <br />Meeting held Monday, July 13, 1970 <br /> <br />was asked to have this questionnaire prepared for mailing to the applicants, <br />applying for membership on the Open Space and Recreation Committee. <br /> <br />The next item of discussion was the Vermillion River Flood Control Project. <br />The Engineer informed the Planning Commission that Mr. George Skein <br />from the Corps of Engineers was interested in a meeting with the City Council <br />or Planning Commission or group of citizens to discuss the change in design <br />required by the Plarming Commission, a motion to the City Council at the last <br />meeting. It was suggested that the Engineer write to the Conservation <br />Department and the Metropolitan Council in regard to the status of the Vermillinn <br />River Flood Project. <br /> <br />The Engineer then informed the Planning Commission that Mr. Xavier Kaiser <br />had indicated that he wanted to proceed with his motel. The minutes of the <br />September 29, 1969 meeting were read, at which time the Planning Commis- <br />sion suggested that the motel not be approved and that acquisition of Mr. Kaiser's <br />property be considered, which was appraised at $18,000 by the City Assessor. <br />The Engineer is to prepare for the next Council Meeting the full street mal~ <br />using the Minnesota Highway Department secondary systems map received <br />this week and superimpose the major future thoroughfares thereupon. <br /> <br />completed our meeting at approximately 10:00 P.M. <br /> <br />John Davidson, City Engineer <br /> <br /> <br />
